Dennis Biswell is an avid outdoorsman, Dennis Biswell (AKA the Griz) has hunted and fished all his life. Dennis has had articles on tanning and hunting published in Mother Earth News and Grit magazine. At the Mother Earth News Fairs Biswell brings examples of his work to classes and discusses how to create the patterns and sew each of the projects. Check out his other podcast episode Leathers and Furs: Preserving Animal Hides.
Jami McCabe went to the first BOW program in Kansas as a participant, and has moved through the ranks. She was a participant for 4 years, then helped teach archery for another 4 years, and has been the Coordinator ever since. Her other job is as an LPN at a cardiology clinic. & her husband, Dick, have a large blended family of grandkids, kids, and in-laws, along with their assortment of 4-legged “kids” (dogs, cats, horses). Jami and Dick enjoy turkey hunting together, and taking their hard-hunting Brittany out chasing birds. When she’s not out hunting or with family, she can also be found riding her horses.
Richard McCabe’s current hunting passions include chasing upland game with his dog, Badger, and son, Mike; sitting in a duck blind with son Mike, daughter Michelle and friend Steve; still or blind hunting with Jami for wild turkey; and guiding pheasant hunters.
He has hunted for more than 65 years, and has been privileged to hunt successfully in more than 35 states and several provinces, for upland game, big game and waterfowl. He now prefers sedentary hunting. Besides family, friends and pets (although the pets are friends and family), hunting is his foremost passion.
