Chick Treats
What’s up Manna Pro? The new Flock Party Line is amazing! Premium nutritional poultry treats that are high in protein and fat. Coming in both bagged mixes and suet cake forms chickens will go crazy over these treats. Manna Pro suggests waiting till your chicks are eight weeks old before you start them on these particular treats. When you do start giving them treats make sure they have grit available to eat. Manna Pro came out with a chick grit that has probiotics already mixed right in, what a nifty idea. Looking for a treat for the younger peeps? Try Chick Stick a fun nutritional treat that gives the chicks something to peck on besides each other. Check out their chicken toy, simply fill it with a favorite treat and watch the entertainment begin.

They have mixed treats as well as straight mealworms and grubs. Have ducks? They produce treats especially for them too! Don’t forget to let your flock try out their Cricket Craze recipe.
Chick supplements
Whether using them as a precaution or keeping them on hand when something goes wrong. There are a few products every chick keeper should have available at all times. Electrolyte packs or tablets are a must. The stress from the move can be really hard on the little peeps. It helps to balance their immune system. Probiotics are the other must have, coming in many forms tablets, single dose packets, even mixed in with their food. Within twenty-four hours of receiving new chicks, I like to have probiotics in them. It helps to ensure the health and happiness of a new flock.
Odds and Ends
A quality thermometer is important to have handy. Considering no heat source is perfect, let’s be extra safe. Make sure to place in your brooder to ensure the peeps are not too cold or too hot. Leg bands are another useful investment. I use them to mark males from females as well as to mark chicks I’m going to keep from the ones that will be sold.
