Are you ready to get hugging your chickens?
Well a few years ago, I was disappointed that not a day existed for chickens. Of course, there already was a world egg day. Why not a day for chickens?
As most of you know backyard chickens do not only delight us with their eggs, but they provide our families with so much more. From entertainment, pest control, composting, pets, and kitchen scrap eaters keeping chickens is a very rewarding experience. I thought they deserved a day when we take time out of our days to say thank you.
This year, on Wednesday, we will be celebrating our fourth Hug a Chicken Day. Each year it grows a little more! The best part is that this day happens right in your very own backyard. So feel free to scoop up your favorite chicken and take a picture of you hugging them. We’d love for you to share it on Facebook here and other social media too. Be sure to use hashtag #HACD so folks can find all of us chicken huggers in our glory.
