Reasons For Blowing-Out Eggs
-Crafts and Easter egg coloring are great reasons to blow out an egg.
-Filled with mustard (to hopefully stop an egg eater) is popular among many chicken keepers.
-Farm fresh eggs make beautiful arrangements. Blowing out the eggs will ensure that the eggs last.
Tools and Materials
You don’t need anything extreme to do this project, just a few things you probably have lying around the house.
- You will need something to gently poke a hole in the egg. (I think a nail works great.)
- A toothpick (to help break the yolk).
- A straw (to blow out the yolk) .
- A bowl (for the yolk to drain in).
- And some blowing power. (Think of it like blowing up a balloon.)
Let’s do this!
How To Start
Start by thoroughly washing the eggs with warm water and soap, then dry them off.
Begin gently tapping the nail onto one end of the egg. Be careful not to use too much force or the egg will break. Do this to make a hole on both ends of the egg.
Use a toothpick to help break up the yolk.
Position the straw over one of the holes.
Take a deep breath and blow! It really doesn’t take long to get all the yolk blown out.
Rinse the eggs out with water and allow to air dry.
Enjoy for a long time.
If you are going to fill the egg with something, you may want to make the hole a little bigger.
Seal the hole. (After trying many things, I found that hot glue worked the best.)
