If you’re a chicken keeper, then you know the attempts taken to protect the flock against predators. – We lock the coop up each night, use a crazy amount of hardware cloth and bury chicken wire around the perimeter of the coop and run. We employ guard dogs, roosters (when allowed) and even security cameras as additional measures to keep predators from harming the flock. Each morning we count the chickens and give a thankful sigh of relief when every hen is present and unharmed …
When I ran across this handcrafted sign from artist, Pamela Bouse, I knew that it would appeal to our readers!
Thanks to Pamela, our readers have a chance to win this adorable sign to display in their coop! Continue reading as Pamela describes how she creates her art and more about her Etsy shop:
I love to USE my imagination! My wood signs are considered Typography Signs. I personally design my signs and love custom orders!! That’s why the banner of my Etsy shop reflects Albert Einstein quotation: “Creativity is intelligence having fun!” Custom orders get my creative juices flowing!
A year before quitting my full time job, I came across several artistic techniques with making signs. My hubby of 36 years helped me in many of the steps. We made a few signs people liked, and it was a creativity time for me.
In the late 80s to early 90s we had a retail and wholesale company. We sold our products at many national markets under the name “Simpfok’s.” Spelled wrong on purpose. We were blessed to achieve such success for so many years. Then … “made in China” products came, thousands of American jobs were depleted. We could no longer afford to offer our 15 employees their jobs.
And now I’m so happy to witness the support on Etsy and the return of “made in the USA.”
Three months after leaving my full-time job, I launched my designs. A few months later, I started watching two out of three of our grandchildren each day. Our eldest about to enter high school. The grand kids come first, then my creativity. For now each day is filled with laughter of their precious little minds. I think it’s AMAZING how GOD directs you!
If you have a dream, a desire of creativity, work on it as much as you can in your spare time, for you never know … a door can open for YOU!
The chicken coop sign measures 12″ X 12″ square with cream-colored lettering and a black background. Its features are distressed, and there is a hanger on back. The signs are sealed with a matte spray. I can seal with poly finish upon request, but you must keep in mind the material is wood and in time wood weathers.
Thanks Pamela for offering this giveaway that will be much appreciated by our readers! To enter the contest, click here! In two weeks a winner will be chosen, and then Pamela will send the sign your way!
